The story
Near Markopoulo’s central square, Agia Paraskevi rewards a closer look. Behind its modest exterior lies a painted interior associated with Georgios Markou, whose work forms an important thread in the region’s eighteenth-century religious art. The neighbouring chapel of Agia Thekla makes this a natural paired stop. These small buildings bring the history of local worship directly into the everyday life of the town.
