Gastronomy

The Mesogeia is one of the oldest wine regions of Attica; the coast adds the seafood.

Markopoulo sits in the heart of the Mesogeia, the vineyard plain east of Athens where the Savatiano grape has been grown for centuries. Wineries around the town open their cellar doors for tastings and light plates.

On the coast, the fish tavernas of Porto Rafti and the grills of the town complete the picture: wine from the plain, fish from the bay, and the vegetables of the Attic countryside.
